Welcome to Bigfork, Montana. A quaint little tourist town with an eating problem located on shores of Flathead Lake. Bigfork is a stone’s throw from other popular destinations such as Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort. It also happens to be one of the Flathead Valley’s premier dining destinations and they do a stellar job showing this off every Spring at The Taste of Bigfork!
The Taste of Bigfork Event
The 25th annual rendition of The Taste of Bigfork went down on April 28th this year and it is definitely going on our permanent calendar. This event brings together the stars of food and drink within the Bigfork / Woods Bay / Swan Lake area to show off their offerings throughout select venues in downtown Bigfork, Montana.
We were issued wine glasses and a map to all of the various venues downtown. This made for a fantastic casual walking loop with plenty of time to sample the cuisine while also enjoying visits to the numerous shops and galleries throughout Bigfork.
The sampling venues were both inside and outside with some shared amongst participating restaurants and beverage makers who do not have their own downtown presence. Lines were short and the hosts kept the wine, beer, and cocktails flowing throughout to appease the masses.
Along with the food and drinks many venues also hosted live music with artists that were well noted on the itinerary. Of particular interested was the local group Man And The Box performing at Fieldheads Coffee. They were unique and exceptionally talented which drew us to a table to take in the music.

Make sure you check out Roma’s Gourmet Kitchen Store while you are in town! They run the premier culinary shop in the Flathead Valley and their selection will definitely speak to your inner foodie!
Come with an empty stomach and be ready to get down with some deliciousness! The Taste of Bigfork will leave you fat, happy, and looking forward to next year!

The Taste of Bigfork General Information
The Taste of Bigfork event is held annually in late April. It runs from 2pm – 5pm, for wine, music and wonderful food from Bigfork restaurants.
Walk from venue to venue in downtown Bigfork for this fun and filling benefit for Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley, Friends of Bigfork Fire Department and the Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce.
At 5:30 after you’re full and happy, the world’s greatest raffle will take place at the Garden Bar & Grill. Many great items are donated by Bigfork Area merchants for you to win.
Tickets for the Taste of Bigfork are $40 per person as of the date of this publication. They are available for sale at Electric Avenue Gifts from 10-6 Mon-Sat, Sun 10-5 837-4994, and the Bigfork Area Chamber office from 10-2 M-F.
